The number of FDI manufacturers in the electrical equipment sector increased by 30%, from 393 companies in 2020 to 523 in 2024, with South Korea having the largest number of investors. During the same period, industry revenue rose by 116%, from USD 10.4 billion to USD 22.5 billion, with China making the largest contribution.<\/p>\n

However, this revenue growth does not reflect an even expansion across the entire sector, as a significant share of revenue came from major brands such as Samsung SDI, First Solar, Trina Solar, Jinko Solar, and JA Solar. These five brands alone contributed more than 5 billion USD, equivalent to over one-fifth of the sector\u2019s total revenue in 2024. This indicates that sector revenue tends to be concentrated among large enterprises, particularly those involved in the production of solar batteries and renewable energy equipment.<\/p>\n

In terms of average revenue per enterprise, Singapore stood out compared with other countries, reaching its highest level in 2022 at around 130 million USD per enterprise, before declining in 2023 and 2024. Nevertheless, the 2024 figure of Singapore remains high, 1.5 times higher than that of Japan, the second-ranked country. In contrast, South Korean firms remained relatively stable at a lower level, suggesting that revenue scale differs greatly across investor groups.<\/p>\n
